Frank Brooks, Dotdigital's Head of EMEA Marketing, joined us to share his top 3 tips for taking your marketing personalization to the next level.

Trustpilot: As experts in this area, could you share your top three tips for the best marketing personalization?

Dotdigital: I think the first thing is check your data. What data do you actually have on your customers and is it accurate? A strong foundation of any personalization strategy is having quality data to make that personalized experience effective. Regularly updating and cleansing your customer database is really essential. I've had suggested to customers to just almost block out a whole day and just do a whole data audit, to look at the data that you have, where is it sitting? And try to put together a plan because it will investing in that will help you sort of lift that data and create more personalized experiences.

Second, is using behavior or website data in the likes of your emails. So, being able to leverage this data by, you know your website and your email strategy, they should be working with each other, not against each other. So, leveraging those insights of the pages that, you know, people are coming towards, what are they showing some interest in? And then being able to quite quickly and effectively put that into your email strategy, your email content is super easy with something like Dotdigital, but, it's just about connecting the dots. So, taking that website data and creating more of an intent in your in your marketing emails.

I think the final tip is going to be just start today, like start with something small. You can start to personalize your email set really from today, start small and scale quickly and always test and see what works, but you're not doing any level of personalization. I would say, go away and try something today because it genuinely the facts speak for itself, it will increase your engagement with your customers.
